So I’ve Been Convinced to Start a Blog

Hi!  I’m Cheryl.  I’m here because I am a book nerd.  A serious, no-fooling, un-embarrassed book nerd.  I want to share that nerdiness with you.

If you’re reading this blog, you probably know me in real life, but on the off chance that you don’t, let me tell you a bit about myself.

I’m currently a school librarian at a small private school in Maryland.  For my job, I read. A lot. I get asked for recommendations. A lot. When I read a book that I absolutely adore, I can’t stop talking about it.  A lot. What better way to share my craziness than to start a blog, right?

This blog should be called, “All the Books Cheryl Loves” but that seemed like too long a URL, so I shortened it to Book Love!  I love books. I love all things books – bookish inspired everything (gosh, isn’t Etsy fabulous). I have so many book boyfriends that it’s amazing that my husband lets me keep reading 😉. So, this is what the blog is – love letters to the books I adore.  

If you’re looking for specifics on the types of books that I will write about, I wish I could tell you.  I read and love books from all genres. I will talk about Middle Grade and Young Adult books, since those are what I read for my job.  I will also talk about the books I read in my free time – which is everything: Realistic Fiction, Fantasy, Science Fiction, Romance, Historical Fiction, Mysteries, etc.  My love for Sarah Maas, Louise Penny, Pierce Brown, Holly Black, Christina Lauren, and more will shine through.

The only genre that doesn’t really excite me is non-fiction.  But, I do occasionally read one – and like it. So never say never.  I also have a bunch of friends who love non-fiction, so if this blog becomes a Thing, maybe there will be some guest bloggers to talk about that particular genre.

I also love to shop for things related to books, so maybe that will show up.  I love to travel and when I do, I visit bookstores and libraries–maybe that will show up too.  Who knows? If you’re still reading this, and you’re not related to me, perhaps you are a book nerd too! Perhaps, you really want someone with whom you can geek out.  I am that person!

My many, many readers, who are definitely not people to whom I’m related, depend on my impartiality. I cannot and will not accept any bribes to give a positive review to a stinky book.  OK? 😉
